Can I get The License Lab music on CDs?Categories: All, LegalNo. We believe the environmental impact, storage space hassles, and extra expense for everyone involved are no longer worth the effort, and we’ve built our business model on the concept of a continuous stream of new music… no more needing to wait for CDs to be finished, mastered, manufactured, packaged, delivered, imported, and organized.

Does The License Lab contain any re-titled songs from bands or indie artists?Categories: All, LegalNo. We believe in the significant benefits for our clients provided by exclusivity in licensed music. We maintain a list of friendly and helpful re-title non-exclusive libraries to whom we regularly refer new customers who may be better suited by the non-exclusive business model… happy to help, just send us an email.

Do you accept submissions from new composers?Categories: All, Songs & ArtistsWe’re always interested in finding new people who are passionate about making music. The best way to see if we’re a good fit is to send us some of your best tracks (2 or 3) via our SoundCloud Dropbox.

Does The License Lab offer music on hard drives?Categories: All, Production MusicFor some clients hard drives make the most sense or are a legal necessity. If you think you’re in this position, give us a shout by email or phone and we’ll set you up.

How much music does The License Lab release online each year?Categories: All, Music LibraryAs much as possible. Really. We’re committed to releasing at least 10 new tracks every week, and so far we’re way ahead of that schedule.

Is the music at The License Lab copyright-free or royalty-free?Categories: All, Music LicensingNo, you must obtain a license from us in order to be in compliance with United States Copyright Law, and the relevant performance royalties need to be paid through the appropriate performing rights society (ASCAP,BMI, SESAC).

Can The License Lab help me find the right music for my project?Categories: All, Songs & ArtistsDefinitely. It’s one of our very favorite things to do… get in touch by email, IM, or phone (1-877-LICENSE) and we’ll jump right on it.

Can I use The License Lab music without paying for it?Categories: All, DistributionAbsolutely… as long as you’re not making money in any way. If you’re a student, for example, we’d love to see what you create with our sounds.
