Born in London 2012, Tubesounds was founded by lifelong friends Ben Siddall and Scott McCormick, with the aim of creating an alternative music catalogue that could represent both genuine artistic integrity and quality production values. Scott’s position as a producer at the heartbeat of the UK industry combined with Ben’s classical background and music business affairs acumen made an excellent combination for achieving that objective.
With an overriding principle of quality over quantity, Ben and Scott drew on their own work as well as handpicking a selection of professional producers, composers and musicians who excel in their chosen musical genres to contribute toward the catalogue.
Matching the artistic quality of the music with equally impressive visual presentation was vital, so they enlisted the help of friend and professional album artwork designer, Miles Johnson, whose talents were previously put to use in Nashville, USA, where he worked with Jack White’s Third Man Records. There he designed album sleeves for The White Stripes, Wanda Jackson and The Raconteurs amongst others. Miles’ album sleeve designs helped to capture the essence of the Tubesounds recordings perfectly.
